CANON INFORMATION
CHARACTER NAME: Snow Villiers
CANON: Final Fantasy XIII
HISTORY: Link!
STRENGTHS:
Brave: Snow is a brave, daring individual who is quick to jump into the fray with little concern for his own personal safety or security. Snow doesn't really entertain thoughts like "what if I lose" or "he looks strong", he's much more the type to just jump in headfirst and let things work themselves out. That's not to say he's completely unaware of stakes or danger, but he's able to push past that with incredible bravado that can prove inspiring to those around him.
Selfless: Snow is a very selfless individual who puts others first, even at the expense of himself. He's always willing to jump in headfirst if it's for someone else, without much thought to his own safety or ability to survive said encounter (see Brave, above). Snow's selflessness is the core of his being, he's the kind of person who always puts others before himself and genuinely wants to and enjoys helping others.
Indomitable: Snow is the kind of person who doesn't consider the fact that he might lose, and as such is almost constitutionally incapable of giving up. While he's not completely unable to become lost or hopeless, it takes him a good 500 years of life in a dying world, and even then he is still doing everything he can and sacrificing everything of himself to protect the people in his care.
FLAWS:
Reckless: Snow's general hot-blooded spirit is not without downside, as it makes him quite reckless. Because he's very much the action-first think-later-if-at-all type, it's easy for him to get in over his head or into a bad situation because he didn't really plan or consider the situation before barging in. Snow actually remarks to a companion, "since when have heroes ever needed plans?" which more or less encapsulates his attitude on that.
Self-Sacrificing: As someone who lives to help others, Snow will, if permitted, give absolutely everything for others even at his own expense. Snow doesn't really consider his own needs or feelings, and fills his life with the needs of others. While this isn't always an issue with his relentless optimism and selfless attitude, it can often lead to trouble for Snow.
Cocky: While not classically arrogant in the way of nobility and royalty, Snow nevertheless holds a certain arrogance in his personality through his overwhelming and not always entirely deserved confidence and his general friendly buddy-buddy demeanor. Snow's the kind of person who assumes people are his pals no matter what and while that means he's always ready to help them, he doesn't ever realize that he might be coming on too strong or completely misreading the situation.
CANON ABILITIES: Snow is a l'Cie, a being who was given magic by the gods of his world with the intent to fulfill a focus - a kind of quest that will grant him eternal life if successful (eternal life meaning "as a giant crystal of yourself") but will transform you into a horrible mutated monster if you fail. He is the only character who actually maintains his status as a l'Cie throughout the entirety of the game series, although the need to fulfill the focus becomes kind of spotty.
Nevertheless, Snow is an enormously powerful man who is built in many ways like a tank. His primary l'Cie mode is Sentinel, a defensive mode that allows him to provoke enemies into attacking him, guard his friends and dramatically reduce the damage he takes, even healing himself while guarding. One of the primary unique factors of Snow's Sentinel style is counter-attacks, he gains a number of abilities that let him attack back with physical punches when he comes under attack from his enemies.
Aside from Sentinel, Snow can enter Commando mode, where he uses ferocious punches and kicks to lay waste to his opponents. Also in this mode he can cast the long-range ruin ability, which is a magic ability that does physical damage over long distances. Commando is Snow's strongest attack mode, but his raw offensive strength is on the higher end of moderate when compared to the other party members.
Finally, his third primary l'Cie ability is the Ravager mode, a spellcasting stance. Snow can command even the most powerful Ice and Water magic, as well as some wind magic up to the medium powered spells. Snow's not the best Magic user out there, but as he wields no weapon he can cast fairly quickly. One of his spells, Vigor, also gives him the ability to chain his attacks with higher proficiency and stagger his enemies, opening them up to more damage, making him an extremely powerful magic user if he chooses to focus on those abilities, specializing in firing a high volume of spells quickly as opposed to powerful individual spells.
He does have some tertiary abilities as a Saboteur, Medic, and Sentinel. His Medic abilities are passable at best, he has some good healing spells that can help keep the party up and are not as reliant on his rather abysmal magic power. As a Saboteur, he can stun enemies and has a number of useful debuff spells allowing him to switch to this mode in a pinch. As a Synergist, he is entirely unimpressive, having access to a few basic buff abilities to raise defenses and attack power, and pretty much nothing else.
A full listing of Snow's Crystarium can be found here.
Besides this, Snow has two major abilities of note. The first, Sovereign Fist, is a powerful single punch that will blast away an entire group of enemies with tremendous physical force. It ignores the target's resistance to physical damage, and if he has managed to find an opening on his opponent's stance or can target a weak point, will deal massively inflated damage above that.
The second is his Eidolon, Shiva. By drawing them out of his l'Cie Brand, Snow can summon the a powerful pair of ice spirits. Shiva is a group of two sisters, Stiria and Nix, who can join Snow in battle when summoned and help him attack. Stiria will assist with offensive ice magic and healing magic, whereas Nix will use physical attacks and ice magic to aid Snow in battle. As they fight together and build power, Snow can unleash their Gestalt form, where they combine into a motorcycle he can ride and use to attack with ice and physical attacks (mostly by generating ice trails and ramming into people). This culminates in their final attack, Diamond Dust, in which Snow rides a circle around his target which blossoms into a massive glacier of ice, shattering and inflicting massive damage.
AU INFORMATION
AU CHARACTER NAME: Snow Villiers
AGE: 25
POSITION: Sports Coach
AU BACKSTORY:
-Orphaned at a young age in a small American seaside town with heightened supernatural activity. Snow himself is entirely without inherent powers, so far as we know.
-Started a small hunter group called "NORA" (No obligations, rules or authority) with some fellow orphans to defend against some of the monsters who plagued the area. Often with firearms that they shouldn't really have.
-NORA continues operations not-especially-legitimately in the area to this day. They cast themselves as something of heroes to the populace, at least those that are aware of the issues they help resolve but often run into trouble with more official groups and organizations.
-Snow did start accepting some official work from the local governments, and would make forays into the Outlands on their behest.
-During one of these missions he came into contact with a mysterious being known as a Fal'Cie. The Fal'Cie, said to be some kind of Divinity, branded Snow and some of his companions at the time. The brand made him a l'Cie, granding him with the ability to command magic (in his case, very much centered around ice and water) and granting him supernatural abilities but bestowing upon him a focus. The focus that he saw was a vision of him saving the world, something he was going to do anyway. Also if he fails or takes too long he turns into a mindless abomination, but, details.
-With his new focus, Snow thought it might be a good idea to hook up with Daybreak since they were up on the whole saving the world business. Seemed like a good fit.
-Now he's the coach, because of course he is.
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: Snow isn't especially different from canon. He's had a hard early life that he's had to rise above, he's still not great with authority, and he's still reckless, daring, and with something of a hero complex. In Daybreak, he has an understanding that fulfilling his focus isn't something he can really manage on his own, so he's happy to let the Academy take the lead and direct him. They know why he's here, and they have an arrangement, so to speak.
RACE: l'Cie. A human who was granted powers by a Divine entity but is also required to do something or turn into a mindless monster as punishment. In his case, saving the world from Nightfall.
SECRET SOCIETY: NORA, a hunter clan Snow formed with some close friends and fellow orphans dedicated to fighting monsters and keeping people safe. It stands for No obligations, rules or authority and generally doesn't tend to play nice with actual local authorities, supernatural or otherwise.
POWERS: As a l'Cie, Snow's abilities generally encompass unnatural hardiness (although that may be more because he's just so damn stubborn) and a command over water, ice, and a bit of wind magic. He can also punch the hell out of most things, supernatural or not. His final and mightiest ability is that of the summoning of an Outland spirit known as an Eidolon - in his case the twin Shiva sisters Stiria and Nix, two beings of ice and magic that can form together into a motorcycle. That can also shoot and trail ice. Ice is kinda his thing.

NAME: Snow Villiers

CANON HISTORY: Here
CANON PERSONALITY: Snow is in many ways a simple and uncomplicated man. He's daring, strong and noble, the very picture of a hero except for the fact that he actually believes himself to be one, which in turn makes him come off as more than a little arrogant. He's a man who is confident and idealistic to a fault, wanting to do good and protect people and having within himself the capability to do just that. He is cheerful and lighthearted, but scrappy and in the words of Lightning, his sister-in-law-to-be, "too stubborn to die," which she counts among his best qualities.
Snow very much has a buddy-buddy persona, he comes off exceedingly friendly and wants to be everyone's pal and also look after them. He's very protective of others in general, as the self-styled hero he goes out of his way to protect everyone and help them with their problems. You would think that this would come at the expense of Snow's personal needs and desires, but he really doesn't have much of any in that regard, he most enjoys a life in which he can be helpful to others and protect them.
This desire goes doubly so for those close to him, especially Serah, his fiancee. When Serah is branded a l'Cie, there is no hesitation for him, he leaps to her aid working to help her fulfill her focus. It is during this time that he proposes to her, a very meaningful event indeed for a man as wild and untamed as Snow. While helping everyone is important, it is to Serah he devotes his life first and foremost.
Snow isn't necessarily anti-government, but he has a strong anti-authoritarian streak to be sure. Growing up an orphan in the seaside town of Bodhum and later joining together with his friends from childhood to form a small paramilitary unit to defend the town from wild animals, Snow is at his best when he's able to feel useful and heroic, protecting people from things that would do them harm. This continues as Chaos slips into the world, rendering all humanity unable to age and infertile. He makes a pact with his old friends to save the world and humanity, and sets to fighting off monsters to protect them and securing steady food for the populace, helping ensure that in the dying, ageless world fighting over food and dwindling resources is not as cataclysmic as it might otherwise be. As a Hero, Snow does want to do right by people and while he's more than a little simple, he does have the capacity to work for what's best for people in the long term. He's also really really good at beating up monsters and that tends to be his first go-to plan/career. Controlling some of the food supply which he can distribute to the populace does put him at odds with the new government, but Snow really doesn't care, he's going to help people no matter what.
Not even Snow's relentless spirit is completely indomitable, however. The interminable passage of time in a dying world leaves him a broken man, locked away and still protecting his people from the chaos but despairing over his inability to save Serah and the world, even to the point of inviting death to free him of his guilt. But even in spite of this, when given new hope by Lightning, his fire returns and brings him back to the man he once was. So long as Snow has within him the capacity to hope for a better tomorrow, he will throw himself full-throttle into making that happen.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Snow is a l'Cie, a being who was given magic by the gods of his world with the intent to fulfill a focus - a kind of quest that will grant him eternal life if successful (eternal life meaning "as a giant crystal of yourself") but will transform you into a horrible mutated monster if you fail. AU HISTORY:
-Born in Recolle, lived there all his life
-Loves cars and motorcycles
-Saved up and bought his first motorcycle and got his license the day he turned 16
-Motorcycle was a piece of junk and he learned how to fix it, went into vocational education after high school to become mechanic certified
-Opened his own mechanic shop by cashing out some bonds and investments his grandparents had put aside for him
-Now gets paid to fix cars and bikes and is basically living his best life
-Recently started dating Penny Rose a few months ago, still very much in the puppy love phase (this has been arranged with the incoming Penny/Serah and will be reflected in her app as well)
AU PERSONALITY:
-From an old school Union family, very pro-labor and mistrustful of government and big business
-More friendly and relaxed as befits a setting that doesn't have him fighting monsters in defense of his town for a living (not that he wasn't that in canon)
-Less free-spirited and more responsible, since he's a small business owner
-Has his own staff and is very protective of them, considers them like family much as NORA is in canon.

Character Information
Name: Snow Villiers
Canon: Final Fantasy XIII
Canon Point: End of Lightning Returns, after everyone dies but before being reborn in the new world
Age: Technically 523 but was locked into 23. It's complicated.
History: Wiki link!
Personality: Snow is in many ways a simple and uncomplicated man.
Abilities: Snow is a l'Cie, a being who was given magic by the gods of his world with the intent to fulfill a focus - a kind of quest that will grant him eternal life if successful (eternal life meaning "as a giant crystal of yourself") but will transform you into a horrible mutated monster if you fail.
Aside from Sentinel, Snow can enter Commando mode, where he uses ferocious punches and kicks to lay waste to his opponents. Also in this mode he can cast the long-range ruin ability, which is a magic ability that does physical damage over long distances.
One of his spells, Vigor, also gives him the ability to chain his attacks with higher proficiency and stagger his enemies, opening them up to more damage, making him an extremely powerful magic user if he chooses to focus on those abilities.
Strengths: Selfless, Optimistic, Friendly, Carefree, Devoted
Weaknesses: Unreliable, Careless, Arrogant, Oblivious, Simple
God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?: While Snow is certainly a natural leader, he doesn't necessarily seek it and is more comfortable serving the people directly. If he's working for (or more precisely, with) someone he is comfortable with, he has no trouble working with them and is eager to help them out. Being as he is more than a little independent and carefree, the responsibilities of a god don't necessarily suit him - he doesn't want to be worshiped he just wants to help out.
Cause Of Death: Snow's cause of death was inevitable - his world died and he with it. In this case, however, instead of being reborn into the new world, he went on to become a Shinki.
Vessel: A large gray trenchcoat (quite similar in fact to the one he customarily wears). His name Kanji is emblazoned on the back where the crest is for his normal coat.

It was, in essence, a pretty simple job. An Ayakashi threatening some office workers, and the job was to take 'em out. The problem, here, was that Snow managed to arrive on the scene first, and his god was still a bit of a ways out. Well, technically, this was a problem, but if you're Snow, and Snow was pretty sure he was, this wasn't really a problem at all.
"All right then! The Hero of Earth has arrived!"
The Ayakashi, an enormous whale-like beast with a long, jagged pointed snout and razor teeth, turned to affix its 10... 11... a lot of eyeballs on him.
"That's right ugly, I'm taking you down!"
Clearly not impressed by is boast, the beast charged, something Snow was positively thrilled about. Clenching his fists into a fighting stance, he launched a burst of ice at it before leaping into the air. The ice struck true, causing it to flinch a bit which allowed him to come down hard on it, smashing it in the head. It went flailing backwards, wriggling and writhing when his cell phone started buzzing furiously in his pocket.
"Hello? Serah! Yeah, I'm doing go-oops!"
The Ayakashi took several vicious stabs at him, which he dodged clumsily.
"Yeah, doing good. Just fightin' this Ayakashi, you know, business as usual."
He landed a blow between its nose as very frantic shouting came from the other line.
"Hey hey, don't worry I got this! Hero of Earth, remember! I'll be done before you even ow goddamn it that one hurt a bit!"
This said with result to a somewhat missed dodge and a nose embedded in his shoulder.
"Hey I gotta go, accidentally got stabbed. See you soon, love you!"
Hanging up, he affixed the Ayakashi with a vicious grin.
"All right, now, where were we?"
